Bernardo est une marque autrichienne créée en 1997 par la société familiale PWA, fondée à Linz en 1979, qui distribue une large gamme de machines pour le travail du bois et du métal. Les machines vendues sous la marque Bernardo ne sont pas fabriquées en Autriche mais principalement importées de Chine et de Taïwan.
Une perceuse industrielle réalise des trous précis dans le métal, en fixe (perceuse à colonne) ou intégrée à une ligne de production, pour des opérations de perçage simple ou répétitif. Utilisée dans quasiment tous les ateliers mécaniques, la construction métallique, la chaudronnerie et l'assemblage de structures métalliques. Le prix va de 500-3 000 € pour une perceuse à colonne d'occasion à plus de 15 000 € neuf pour une perceuse industrielle multi-broches automatisée. Durée de vie de 20 à 30 ans, la mécanique étant robuste et simple, le mandrin et les paliers étant les éléments à remplacer périodiquement. Nécessite une alimentation électrique adaptée, un système de fixation de la pièce (étau ou bridage), et des forets adaptés au matériau percé.
